does anyone think its odd...?

A few weeks back Justin Snaith couldn't separate Legislate and Futura for the Gold challenge.
Legislate opens 4/1 I think....yet the race tells a very different story.

This past weekend Tarry makes Cagiva the top choice..once again the race told a very different story.

Are trainers really that baffled when drawing comparisons between stable inmates or is there something else going on.

Not suggesting anything sinister but at the same time the facts don't seem to make sense at all.

On Saturday Corne Spies told Julie to let the public know that Kingoftheworld had been gelded and would need the run. Blatant attempt to mislead and got pipped by a vintage Strydom. I took great pleasure in that and hope the connections lost a fortune.

I think this is a bit unfair..............

Cagiva was also my first choice - but the closer we got to race time, the more I started to think about his best efforts - all came in softish ground I think - also 17 starts for a 5 yr old indicates that he is not the soundest around - so in the end I was not really surprised to see him not being persevered with in the closing stages - the trainer obviously thought that he was sound enough to handle the firm ground, but with hindsight being the perfect science, I think he will admit that it was probably a mistake trying to prepare this horse for the July on the hard ground in Gauteng - would probably have been better sending him down to KZN for races like the 1900 and/or the Cup Trial - at least the ground (while not being soft) is at least more forgiving than up on the Highveld

And regarding Kingoftheworld, one could argue that had he not needed the run, he would have hung on to win - it is possible that he is just that much better than the rest of the field he faced and even needing the run, he was still classy enough  And I really am not a fan of the stable

you 100 percent right Frodo ,cagiva only had 12 starts as a 5yo rising 6 in 2 months and his soundness issues are well known and the stipes report for the race says it all ..as for corne spies he was correct in his assessment and he has zero to gain to go and lie and bullshit the public..i have seen many horses win when they have needed the run and many more shall do in the future...when a horse gets gelded he misses work and 90 percent of the time the first run back and especially quite soon after gelding they do need it...slating these guys for their transparency will do us punters no favours

KOTW's previous wins both came on good going...so it was no surprise that the horse ran a cracker,as on form it was right in there. The above mentioned statement abt what the trainer said is exactly why I don't care who says what abt a horse, only what you find itself should count, than you don't have nobody to blame or suspect deviousness.
