Only winners come with "inside information". We hear it all in the post-race interviews. But losers never have any inside info, the connections are bemused.

If being privileged to inside info actually worked then I should have retired many years ago!

Some people seem to think that bookies have "inside info". Many years ago I heard a punter ask a bookie who was going to win the race. The bookie answered something like "if I knew do you think I would be standing here". Just like Craig's, a fab answer.

It is a great thanks to you Craig, Dorrie Sham , Duncan Howells, Louis Goosen, Dom Zaki and many more that points us punter in the right direction. We as exotic players need information like yours because it lesson the burden of adding horse where we need not to. If the horse runs well and into the winners box or placing's it is a bonus but if it runs last tuff luck. Animals are like humans one day they will give their best and the next they will not do what they are asked too. Keep it up Craig your info is greatly appreciated.

Inside info for me is all important as i like to know what is fancied by connections and posters and those stables that post [ at least i am made aware on the well being of their runners ] we must not kid ourselves some clanners are making big money on inside info the last few months but they dont tell the world of their wins.

And if clanners are doing it Len, then I suspect there are plenty others with plenty bigger wins.
Craig, the question is COULD you? Do you tell the world of excuses for a poor performance? Do you always send a horse out trying to win? Do you specifically aim a horse at a race and not tell anyone? etc etc etc Not questions for you to answer personally of course. But tis why transparency and accountability is so vital to the game and why many punters, myself included, find it hard to respect all in your trade and all owners. Ok, not all agree with me and let us not have the debate again, but the 95% lack of, at least early enough to make a difference, open and honest transparency in SA racing is not good for the "game" and there is no excuse for it imo. While that scenario remains there will always be a few "thieving" the losses of genuine punters. Bashing the bookies, my arse, bashing everyone but themselves is more accurate.

For the guys that punt overseas, particularly the UK, are there more transparency than here?
And if so, in which way?

Englander with your daily update and summaries ..you must be showing a profit.
i know that is not the point and understand many punters frustration in the lack of basic info on race days .

yup Len, I am still in profit but it is diminishing by the day (for many different reasons) and it is a daily question whether to stop or carry on.
