R1 Newcastle Lord of the Rock. This looks a straight match between the selection and Madame Butterfly. The latter showed promise on her debut, but that was a weak race and the favourite beat her with a lot in hand. The selection ran really well when narrowly beaten by a promising type last time (it was ten lengths back to the third) and brings easily the strongest form into this. Is likely to go from the front and can make all here. 13/8 is a very good price in a race which has no strength in depth.

Was given one this morning,checked oddschecker and Corals were 8/1.
Rushed to my nearest Corals,about 5 miles away.Had to park on a double yellow.
Asked for price for Aared in 5-55 Curragh,lady says no shop prices on that race.
They are useless that firm,was in shop 5 minutes,left with no bet struck.Car had ticket and
nag is now 4/1.

In the 1990s Coral were my favourite bookmaker - never had a problem getting bets on in their shops and always found their staff to be friendly and knowledgeable (more so than Ladbrokes or William Hill). How things have changed! These days they won't lay an egg and, what I particularly object to, is just the point you make, namely that they sometimes offer prices online which you can't take in a shop. I closed my account with them years ago and don't miss them.
