She was a brilliant 2yo, probably didnt stay much further than a mile.Good news that Muwaary is staying in SA could be a live chance for next years JULY
CHAMPION filly Majmu (headline photo) is set to be retired to stud following her run in Saturday’s Vodacom Durban July.
Mike de Kock commented on Sunday: “It is Majmu’s owner Sheikh Hamdan’s policy to retire all his fillies to stud at the end of their three-year-old careers. She is due to be exported to Shadwell in the UK to take up her duties as a broodmare.
“We will, however, be discussing Majmu’s future with Sheikh Hamdan. She has racing left in her, we had a few setbacks with her prior to feature races here so while she’s won two Gr1’s I believe her record could have reflected more.”

MDK's comment suggests that she just may not retire?

Clearly MdK is going to try to convince them to give her a few more runs!

She obviously has problems(De Kock said immune system) so I really wonder if it's worth continuing with a horse that raced so sparingly due to health issues when the owner will more likely race the progeny himself. Why risk it as an extra graded win will not affect her paddock status in any way
