Nothing wrong with that form - Colonel Rockjaw only 6 runners in that maiden- 5 earned in their very next starts and 2 winners and 2 places from the four subsequent runners - only one unplaced start from 10 runs from that Maiden
Battle Born's time was about 3 secs faster than the fillies in the following race - The second last horse in the colt's race would have finished 5th in the fillies race - Battle of Arcole will go close if he races over this C/d soon
I guess we all look at different things - I'm not a great believer in times in races further than 1200 - also Colonel Rockjaw in his post maiden beat Big Shot by about a length - when winning his maiden, CR beat Battle of Arcole by more than 11 lengths - so this puts BS well clear of BoA. Perfect End only beat BoA by 1.4 lengths - so Big Shot imo superior to Perfect End (even receiving 2.5 kg's) - I guess we will see come the 7th
But .............having looked at Big Shot's maiden win, he only beat BoA by 2.7 lengths - so that does not support my theory above :silly:
