There should be an award for the outstanding work rider and for the groom as well. In most spheres of work, the people/employees at the bottom of the hierarchy don't reap the rewards or benefits....

Or the outstanding yard cat or outstanding lorry driver or the best looking vet or the luckiest punter..

This evening is to announce the very best in the industry, and imo if work riders and grooms are to be rewarded then so would assistants ( we know there is some that carry yards) assistants assistants and their assistants.

Judging by the awards for best 3yr old, best older horse (DISTANCE IRRELEVANT) and horse of the year (also distance irrelevant)...............LIPS and Roger Smith had very little say!!!!!!

Alboran Sea beat Captain of All at handicap conditions ,receiving weight .............Captain of All was still the "winner" of those contests at WFA terms!

I'm not a handicap fundi but the race in Cape Town and the Computaform Sprint are WFA races so after the sex allowances and WFA scale thats how it received weight so how can it be termed "handicap".

So later this month in the Nunthorpe in the UK which is a sprint there is a 2yo filly Acapulco from America which is all the rage and if she wins it's because she was handicapped to win cos of her allowances or due to the wfa scale and weights. Thanks.
