"Group" RESULTS - 'Evening' Friday 9th May Workings...
17 years 4 weeks ago
Evening.
This evening completed, and went as follows.....
The 1st runner we wanted 2.7, and with being around 2.82 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.7 max. The price then drifted back out to our own price of 3.0 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won a battle, so the favourite barrage continues and the way it goes. Glad of the drift now though.........
The 2nd runner we wanted 2.2, and with being around 2.12 on arrival and shortening, we had a lay at around 2.14 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result..........
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.0, and with being around 2.12 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay went and won well, so the way it goes........
The 4th runner we wanted 3.45, and with being around 3.2 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.2. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.75 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was a well beaten 2nd, so a good result.......
The 5th runner we wanted 2.4, and with being around 2.38 and shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 2.38 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.7 and beyond, so another chance of a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade went and won a very close finish, so the way it goes, but glad of the free lay now.........
The 6th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being around 3.55 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten and so the drift justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 7th runner we wanted 1.66, and with being around 1.84 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave........
The 8th runner we wanted 1.9, and with being around 2.1 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 1.9. The lay went and won a battle, so yet another favourite wins today and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.........
The 9th runner we wanted 1.66, and with getting that and shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 1.66 max. The lay was beaten, so a good result........
The 10th runner we wanted 3.1, and with drifting to around 3.2 on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 3.1 max. The lay went and won a battling finish, so another jolly goes in and the way it goes. Only traders playing now though, and they got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....
The 11th and final runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 3.9 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so it was 'one that got away in hindsight'........
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED................(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 3 from the first 5 (60%) went and won - 5 from the first 8 (62.5%) went and won - 6 from the first 10 (60%) went and won - So a very tough evening, and builders did amazingly well)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 1.3 targets.............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after yet another battle today, then ended up conceding 1.3 targets on their 5th lay (the 5th runner).........They then ran out of enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target, so end the session conceding 1.3 targets...
'Bank builder' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that only bought relief........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.14, and a good result see them win a big chunk of their targets..........Then they had their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.0 max, but a poor result see them give a little back.........Then came another 'free' lay (the 4th runner) that bought a tiny profit...........Then another 'free' lay (the 5th runner), but this time it only bought relief...........They then had their 3rd lay (the 8th runner) at 1.9, but a poor result see them give a bit more back..............Then came their 4th lay (the 9th runner) at 1.66, and a good result see them hit their targets....

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so they did a good job amongst all those winners.
So builders play an absolute blinder to get the wages, and that's a cracking effort amongst all those winners, so well played guys.
Rollers again today had to give back a little, as the favourites were winning far too often and we could never get a grip of things. No big deal, but we'll look ahead to tomorrow to get back to winning ways. Speak in the morning...
Marc.
