Not galloping at Scottsville would be considered a bonus to most :)

This topic has caused a bit of conversation in the trainers ranks. The basic reaction is that it should not have been allowed as others had been turned down and it certainly had nothing to do with a director being involved. He was not even here. I spoke to Mike (who incidentally probably uses the grass less than any trainer I know and has not galloped on a course for ages) and he said that the horse is a very nice horse and just wanted to see the course so that he knew where he was. He was prepared to just walk the horse on the track and so permission was given. The cantered right up the outside of the track (where no one races) for a couple of 100m. No gallop as such. It was done before races so nothing was hidden from anyone. He is very surprized at the uproar about it. Anyway my opinion is that the horse would have won anyway. Nothing was going to beat him. It does open a can of worms now as they will battle to justify turning anyone else down.

eudels YOU SPEND FAR TOO MUCH TIME ON THIS WEB SITE. gO TRAIN YOUR HORSES, NO WUNDA JR EWING FROM CAPE TOWN GETS THE MUTTERS TO YOU.
U ARE MISSING THE POINT, WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE, IS GOOD FOR THE GANDER.
THE POINT IS NOT THE HORSE. THE POINT IS THE TRACK WAS CLOSED. END OF MATTER.

Don't worry Bob. If Zombi is not intelligent enough to understand what I wrote, I am certainly not going to take any notice whatsoever of what he posts. Cannot even get his caps lock off. :P

Craig, just for the record, thanks for taking the time to explain events as you believe they happened. I don't think you missed the point at all.

No dis-respect at all intended to Eudey, more humour actually
Caps are off. According to sources a DIRECTOR was involved, who overruled the Course manager's ruling. The matter STINKS and is bad for an ailing sport. Proving that directors should not be allowed to own horses, it's a conflict of interests.
