Most of the top trainers seem to disagree, they still put him on their top horses so that should say quite a bit. They have other jocks to choose from after all.

I watched the replay of this race. Firstly, the horse in question reared in the stalls pre race, and was then passed fit to race. It's quite possible that this had an impact when he needed to find that bit extra in the finish.
There was a solid pace on by Robertson, and Mr Wise Guy was well placed by the jockey. He ran on well, and was narrowly beaten.
As a young 3yo taking on hard knocking older horses in sticky going, he ran a decent race.
In this instance your criticism of the jockey is unfounded.
