Big thumbs up from me....
On 13 July it was announced that Racing Executive, Patrick Davis, had
resigned in order to pursue a career in the United Kingdom.
Phumelela is pleased to announce that Clyde Basel, executive in charge of
Hospitality, Events, Marketing, Sales and Public Relations has been
appointed Racing Executive with effect from 1 October 2015.
Basel will retain his portfolio in respect of Hospitality and Events.
Phumelela also announced that Group Chief Operating Officer, Andreas Heide,
will assume responsibility for Public Relations and this portfolio will be
handed over to Heide during the course of August.
As far as the Marketing and/or Sales portfolios are concerned, a decision
on the way forward is still under discussion and will be announced in due
course.
Rian du Plessis, CEO Phumelela Gaming said: "I would like to take this
opportunity to thank Patrick Davis for his valued and loyal service to the
Group and wish him well in his new career in the United Kingdom. I also
wish to congratulate Clyde and Andreas on their amended and added
responsibilities and wish them well with their new challenges".

Was Clyde not taking over the responsibilities of Kenilworth racing? I am not so sure that this is good news for us though. Splitting responsibilities so as to cost save and not fill an important position is a common trend among corporates these days. The usual result is diminished performance due to overloaded job responsibilities.
