"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Saturday 10th May Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows.......

The 1st runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.95 on arrival and then a non runner and 2.6% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 1.68. The price was still high, and never came down to us at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner ran a very poor race, so god knows what was wrong there, but 'one that go away in hindsight'........

The 2nd runner we wanted 1.7, and with being around 1.75 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 1.7. The lay looked in big trouble and looked to be getting swamped, but due to Spencer on the lay being able to dictate his own pace, it cost the others in the end, so totally and utterly frustrating, but that's racing!. Traders very easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 3rd runner we wanted 3.45, and with drifting to around 3.85 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was easily beaten, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though........

The 4th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.18 (3.2 nearest exchange price). The price was a well supported 2.54 on arrival, so we had a lay at that. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result.........

The 5th runner we wanted 3.5, but a non runner and 2.5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.44. There was then another non runner and further 7.3% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 3.26. Then yet another non runner and further 11.9% reduction, so finally we wanted a lay price of 2.99 (3.0 nearest exchange price). The price was a well supported 2.6 on arrival and shortening, so we had a lay at 2.6 max. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result.......

The 6th runner we wanted 2.5, and with drifting to around 3.15 on arrival, and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond under good support, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The lay went and won a battling finish, so the way it goes. There was a withdrawal at the start, so a little reduction in losses. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 7th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being around 2.88 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner ran a poor race, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'........

The 8th runner we wanted 2.32, and with being around 2.16 on arrival, we had a lay at that. The price then went for a walk and out to our own price of 2.625 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade looked like getting swamped, but then pulled out more and more to hold on after 3 way battle! total annoyance, but the way it goes. Glad of the 'free' lay now though.......

The 9th runner we wanted 2.4, and with drifting to around 2.64 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and beyond under good late support, we had a lay at 2.4 max. The lay looked in trouble, but basically plodded and galloped his way to a win, so fair play and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.......

The 10th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being around 3.9 on arrival and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave......

The 11th runner was a non runner, so on to the next....

The 12th and final runner we wanted 2.7, ad with being around 2.54 on arrival, we had a lay at that. The race is nearly 2 hours away, so with all strategy play completed, and only a bit of trading left, I'm leaving it there...

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...........(5 from the first 10 (50%) went and won, so never easy, but it was drifters that were a pain today. 4 runner builders got the wages though, so well played)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Conceded 3.3 targets..............They started their 1st strategy/target on the 2nd runner, and after winners and drifters and a big battle, they ended up conceding 3.3 targets after their 5th lay (the 8th runner), ad with not enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target, they end the session there.......

'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 1.7, but a poor result see them go behind early.........They then had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.54, and a good result see 4 runner builders break level, and 5 runner builders need a little more............Then came their 3rd lay (the 5th runner) at 2.6, and a good result see 4 runner builders hit their targets...

5 runner builders were now level with going for a little recoup on the 3rd lay, so they then had their 4th lay (the 6th runner) at 2.5 max, but a poor result see them go behind again..........Then came a 'free' lay (the 8th runner) that only bought sheer relief.........They then had their 5th lay (the 9th runner) at 2.4 max, but a poor result see them concede 3.6 targets....

Traders either won or broke level on all their trades, so they did well and well played...

So 4 runner builders are all smiles with hitting their targets! so well played. 5 runner players had to suffer a loss, so it shows how a different strategy can affect the session, so frustration for them and it never went their way at all. That's me for few days guys, so have a nice break and speak on Thursday...

Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings...
