American Paroah retired?

Owners say 60/40 that he will never run again :(

Suppose we will never know if he`s decent

Owner Ahmed Zayat, who has sold the horse's breeding rights to Coolmore but retains ownership and decision-making through 2015, said: "Have I pushed the envelope too much?

"He was happy and he's special and he is the Triple Crown winner. Then you have to ask yourself, 'Is the show over? Is it time?'

"My gut feeling right now, without being outspoken, is to retire him. If this horse is one percent not the American Pharoah that we cherish, the show's over."

Looks as if the time has come to send AP to service the fillies & mares now.

Rather unfortunate but the loss to a winner of a Maiden race only will heavily tarnish his reputation now and will no doubt stick in the minds of the 50 000 who turned up to see the race.

I reckon that defeat might be the reason he runs again.

If he'd won he would have gone to the Breeders Cup and possibly lost there and would have been retired on a defeat. Now at least he won't run until the BC - if at all so he should be well rested....

Heading to Churchill for a rest then a decision, no one will remember the defeat soon imo so retiring the best option or a hurdle race at plumpton next season

He must run in the Breeders. His last run will be forgotten but not his Triple Crown victory.

Hope he runs again and ends on a winning note at a back able price?

Assuming he hasn't picked up an injury, I would be surprised if he is retired on the back of that defeat, but if he runs in the BC Classic, he will need to be ridden with a bit more restraint. Arguably he still has a bit to prove against older horses, as the Haskell field he beat wasn't a particularly strong one.
