Great initiative and must be supported...cancers seem to be more prevalent than 20-30 years ago...I do the Shav-a-thon annually as a small contribution towards the cause...

9 years 11 months agoGREYVILLE RACECOURSE GOES PINK
On Friday October 23, Greyville Racecourse will go PINK.
Gold Circle annually host a nominated charity raceday, with the aim of creating awareness and raising funds for a specific cause. This year PinkDrive is the selected beneficiary and Gold Circle will assist them in their fight against breast cancer.
The event will offer top class entertainment including performances by the talented young singer/songwriter Jjo, the dynamic and versatile dance troop Entertainment Spectacular and South Africa’s own Elvis impersonator Andrea Giglio.
Guests can also look forward to performances from the Durban Girls High “Drummies” and the 1st Medical Battalion Pipe Band.
Entrance to this event is free and the accompanying night racemeeting (Friday October 23) features the Listed Michaelmas Handicap.
Guests are encouraged to dress in PINK to stand a chance to win one of many spot prizes. Guests can also make a donation to PinkDrive at the race meeting.
Marketing Manager of Gold Circle, Ken Tweddell, explained that this particular evening is more than just about horse racing. “This is an annual highlight for us as we aim to raise much needed funds and awareness for our selected cause. This event is particularly relevant this year with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
Founder and CEO of PinkDrive, Noelene Kotschan said: “We are very happy to be part of this event. I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the event organisers for nominating PinkDrive as the benefiting charity for this year’s event, and we are confident that it will be nothing short of a great evening. The much needed funding will be put to good use, to assist the medically uninsured women (and men) in KZN.”
Night racing at Greyville racecourse offers a unique variety of experiences from the tranquil beauty of the parade ring to the bustling grandstand, the popular Lightning Shot Bar, Braai Zone, Kid Zone and the famous Durban View Restaurant. Gold Circle invites all families and individuals to join us at Greyville racecourse to enjoy a fun-packed, meaningful night at the races on Friday 23 October 2015.
TGIF!... TO GREYVILLE, IT’S FRIDAY!

If the race hasn't come too early Regardstobroadway should walk home. Think 5/2 is value. Only bet tomorrow, but looking forward to a couple on Saturday.
