Race 2 Desert Sunset finished close up to Township Talk on both celtic captain and kahaylaan runs and at around 14/10 a place looks good value imo
Race 3 Deeyala ran in a very strong maiden race with Melliflora and will start a lot shorter than the 16/10 currently available

TML, in terms of the race conditions, and I'm prepared to apologise in advance, is Viva La Var not 1.0kg better off than when they last met?
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Last time the weight difference was 4.5 kg (60 vs 55.5)and now it's 3 (61.5 vs 58.5)So Viva la var is worse off whichever way you look at it.
I'm thinking like TML, there is some improvement to come from VLV as was coming off a break and the race worked out very nicely for Barbosa. However , Barbosa again has a good draw so may well come out on top again. Can't look past these 2 though.

Interested to hear how Craig's Hunger Games is working, with the allowance must have a eway shout, muddling kind of race for me as there are a few fancied runners in that race which may find the 1400m a bit imo...

If you look at the two sheik brashee runs before the last, there's a good 14 lengths difference and even taking into account weights that shouldn't happen. I think a fully fit Viva La Var puts Barbosa to bed and the fact that this is actually only the second time he's had a second run after a rest to me indicates that the horse is better than he's been in a while.
