In a pool match in the 2007 WC, Japan lost 91-3 to the Aussies
In a pool match in the 2011 WC, Japan lost 83-7 to the All Blacks

In a pool match in the 2015 WC, Japan played SAfrica

How far have Japan come or is it how bad have the Springboks become

Chicken i know your not keen on the coach but i think the players need to shoulder the blame..

When i played Rugby we knew our job before the match day, infact i dont think i was ever given match day tactics ( was a big dumb 2nd row though)

Every player should know their position and match day comes naturally?

Well done to Japan. When you decide a draw is no good and go for broke it deserves all the credit. Reminds me when South Africa was chasing the highest cricket test score in history and go for the draw instead of immortality.

The bigger rugby and cricket countries got to invest more in the minnows to make it truly a global sport.

You definitely cannot discount the genius of Eddie Jones. Kudos to them. Proper guts shown.

P.S - Why would the Bok coach take players who four years ago couldn't get the job done and are now past their best? #MeyerOut

Off course the players are to blame as well, especially those that should be sitting in SA or wherever, beer in one hand and remote in the other instead of playing in a WC.. Matfield, the two du Plessis, Pinaar, devVilliers, even Habana have long seen their better days. Wholesale changes should be made for next week but there won't be as Meyer believes that his strategy will win him the Cup, news flash Meyer, you going home along with your team at the end of the pool matches
