Imho, this is a great draw card for bringing in new folk... Keeping them entertained is the main priority until they bitten, and I feel a lot lose interest when the wait is to long... From my side, definately a thumbs up!

Re: T20 quick fire race meeting
9 years 7 months agoThe first Twenty20 quickfire racemeeting proved popular and building on that success will be the second in the series that will take place at Greyville Racemeeting this Friday night, October 16.
With nine races 20 minutes apart punters will need to be on their toes getting their bets on but an added incentive to do so will be the R40 000 up for grabs in a Win-If-You-Lose competition.
The R40 000 prize money will be divided up into 10 prizes of R2 000 each with a grand prize of R20 000. All punters need do is write their name, address and cell phone number on the back of their losing tickets and deposit them in the bin provided. The first three draws of R2 000 each will take place after the running of the third race. A further three draws will be made after the fourth race, two draws of R2 000 each after the fifth and sixth races respectively. The main draw of R20 000 to take place after the seventh race.
The nine events have been divided into races for jockeys only and apprentices only and will be run alternately in order to give the rider’s time to prepare for their next race.
The first race is off at 18.15 and is a jockey’s only Maiden Plate with the last race, also a Maiden Plate for jockey’s only, off at 20.55. The nine races will be run in under three hours.
“The first Twenty20 meeting proved mostly popular with racing fans both on and off-course,” said Gold Circle’s Racing and Marketing Executive Graeme Hawkins. “There were sceptics who said it couldn’t be done, but the first meeting went off like clock-work with everybody co-operating in the spirit of the meeting,” he said.
“With only 20 minutes between races, betting opportunities come thick and fast and punters will need to be on their toes getting their bets on,” warned Hawkins. “I suggest that punters do their homework before the meeting starts, especially their exotic bets like the PA and Pick 6, so that they are not caught out and disappointed,” he advised.
As per usual for a Friday night racemeeting at Greyville, the popular Braai Zone will be in operation along with the Kiddies Zone with live music entertainment in the Lightning Shot Bar.

I think both can be beat.
In the Diamond king race, I like Just Ask me and in the Intergalactic race, I think the Leopard will pounce tomorrow.
