Saw the replay on the Attheraces website, got a glimpse of it like 1 second. Not much they could do unless their abandoned their race, they must be had prior incidents like this to come up with the best possible thing to do for them to continue to race. Tough decision.
But while seeing the race, I see the first race at Sedgefield was won by, Vancouverite, who ran second to the new stallion and winner of the Daily News 2000, Vercingetorix. Looked decent over the hurdles, won 4 of 5 already.

Such a shame that these relatively young horses are dying on the race track. Just today I went to the stables to do some mucking out and was told that there was a horse out in the paddock that will be turning 31 in January. Went to look at him and he looked great.

SEDGEFIELD has been fined £5,500 by the BHA for failing to ensure screens were erected while a horse was euthanised in October.
The Arena Racing Company-owned track was ordered to pay the amount following a disciplinary inquiry into the way officials dealt with the fatal injury sustained to So Bazaar in a 2m½f novice handicap chase.
The Andrew Wilson-trained eight-year-old suffered a fracture to his right-fore leg and was euthanised by the senior veterinary officer approximately halfway between the third and fourth fences.
However, the screens were not erected as required and although the incident could not be seen from the stands part of the horse’s body was visible on the television coverage.
The panel concluded that there were insufficient personnel present to enable screens to be erected, and while accepting Arc’s admission to breaking the rules and acknowledging procedures have been put in place to avoid a repeat, they took into account it was the third rule breach by Sedgefield in the last 12 months, which they found “an aggravating factor justifying a significant increase above the entry point”.
Last year, many in the racing industry expressed outrage after the Daily Mirror ran front page images, taken behind the screens and supplied by Animal Aid, showing the moment Wigmore Hall was put down after sustaining untreatable injuries at Doncaster.

Firstly I'll admit i know nothing about Horse health and Anatomy other than they have "weak" bones and it doesnt heal so lekker(i could be wrong stand correct to those in the know), that being said At the ripe old age of 8yrs should the horse still be doing Hurdles?
I'd go for complete banning of said hurdles as its a dangerous for jockey and horse, but why not lower the age, let the more stronger younger horses jump.

Five horse fall in Mudgee Cup Oz. Last pile up I remember was at Newmarket S.A. many years ago.
www.racenet.com.au/news/118007/Five-horse-fall-in-Mudgee-Cup
A shocking fall put a dampener on the running of the $35,000 Mudgee Cup on Friday, won by the outsider Fox Solid.
The incident happened as the field passed the 1200m mark. Devilgate Road (Aaron Bullock), which was trailing the leader Lancelot, crashed to the turf with 12 runners trailing the fallen horse.
Four horses, Scottish Border (Kody Nestor), Goldstone (Glenn Lynch), Sooner Or Later (Greg Ryan) and Are You Sure (Jay Ford) were unable to avoid the Devilgate Road and they also came to grief while Jeff Penza eased his mount Tuliman out of the race.
Amazingly, all riders were conscious and responsive to ambulance officers when they arrived on the scene.
Kody Nestor, suffered shoulder and leg injuries and has been airlifted to hospital while Glenn Lynch, Greg Ryan and Aaron Bullock were taken to the local hospital for observation.
Jay Ford was complaining of a hand injury and Leanne Henry the jockey of another runner Pippi’s Pride, which finished the race, suffered a facial injury in the incident.
Reports from the courseindicate Sooner Or Later was the only horse to be seriously injured in the fall.
With just nine runners completing the course it was the Garry McCarney-trained Fox Solid ($26) that crossed the line first, 1-1/4 lengths clear of Topmast ($15) from the Leon Davies stable with Scott Singleton’s Wild And Proud ($17) another 1-1/4 lengths back in third.
The final race on the program was abandoned.

Saw the footage of the race and one of the horses wasn't moving afterwards I'm assuming that was Sooner or later who it was stated in the article was the only one seriously injured. Anyone know the outcome for the horse.?
