OTA, you are spot on. Poly is very much like Turf. Wishful Heart ran to his Turf rating. If he ran anywhere near his Sand rating off 63, he would have been lengths clear.

As an aspiring kzn trainer, belonging to a kzn yard with a satellite yard in JHB, I couldn't agree more with louisg. However I should perhaps adopt the other mentality, as we used to train Wishful Heart and now he's come and taken stakes from us moreover??? Keep them away so racing can prosper??? Where in the world!!
It's great to see punters actually catching a few bets. Surely that is what racing really needs!

With P monopolizing racing in TVL, Bloem, W Cape, E Cape & N Cape bar KZN, surely there must be funds in the coffers to install a Poly or Sand track at the Turffontein inside track?

Why add another turf track to the existing two at the Vaal at additional costs?

Even a minor centre like Fairview can boast of having a turf and poly track so there should be more reason to put a poly in place at Turffontein.

No concerns about losing meeting to bad weather it seems as venues can be switched from the city track to the Vaal , now that 3 turf tracks will be in operation?

Mike, surely "P" would have to have their heads red if they were to build a sand track at Turf, after they have just closed the one down just a stones throw away.

Perhaps the intention was to have a sand track that could save meetings from getting washed out....................? :silly:

Sorry Mike, not a personal attack on you in the slightest. But wouldn't it then been a cost saving move to increase the drainage systems in an already established track, rather than building a new one.... If ever this would come to the fore...

Yip. One thing I will say is that I will always look after the owners who support me before anything else in the way I think. They come first!
