ANDREW FORTUNE
With regards to a recent thread that appeared on African Betting Clad relating to a sanction against Mr Andrew Fortune for the use of profanity during an interview on Saturday 31 October 2015. Please be advised that, while we don’t feel it necessary to publicise any communication between the parties, no actual suspension or sanction has been taken against Mr Fortune other than that taken by the National Horseracing Authority.
However, we must note that our production of live racing events is not only broadcast on Tellytrack but is aired to all patrons at the racecourse and to our various international customers. Additionally, even though our channel is R18 for the purposes of betting, many parents will be watching at home and may have children within earshot. As such, Tellytrack does take this matter seriously and, in order to protect our viewers, business customers and Sponsors, would need to take appropriate action against any repeated misuse of the Tellytrack platform.
With regards to the emergence of this thread, we at Tellytrack appreciate that a number of our regular viewers are active members of ABC and, therefore, we attempt to provide thorough and honest feedback were necessary. In order to avoid confusion, we would have appreciated the opportunity to either confirm or deny this story prior to publication.
Kind Regards
Matthew Briton

Your fine Bob, just consider that we do get used and next time let them post directly if they have a problem and do their own fighting with Tellytrack or whoever?

Best to keep it clean and sportsmen/women should be ambassadors for their game. Now imagine a scenario where in cricket let's say Hashim Amla in the post match interview uses swear words or maybe Morinhou after losing another home game has a go at the officials with a few choice swear words?
Racing being the sport of kings/queens should be at the forefront of class and pleasure.

Mr Briton.....you unfortunately cannot control kids thats in the earshot of tellytrack in a persons home. That will be the duty of the parent, knowing that the channel is rated 18.

I'm sorry but I cannot marry a fine of 5k, for what is actually just a bit of potty mouth, with the multiple drug fines Trainer P.L.Smith got in Kimberley. He ran a horse that broke down on anti-inflammatory drugs and also had a winner with another horse on the same juice. His stable was so full of other banned drugs and he gets 5k FOR NOT KEEPING any records of drugs given to his horses by a Vet. Really this is surely a case that requires more than a combined 48k fine?
How on earth can this be possible - You get 5 k for not keeping medical records that ultimately are in place to PROTECT the horse and the integrity of the sport and 5k for uttering a few profanities. I think with so many transgressions, and especially in light of the horse breaking down this trainer should be banned for a year or two at the least or else face fines of R100 000 +.
I'm sorry but if a story like this had to make mainstream news the damage to racing would be severe. Mr Fortune would have to swear naked riding backwards down the track before any news editor would publish a story on a "swearing jockey" but we all know how "doping and crooks in Racing" is news the public like.

Excellent post Mr H
Dear Mr Briton... there are plenty of posts where it is clearly the opinion of many ABC members that it is absolutely necessary for the punter's benefit and the good of the sport for you to give feedback. You choose in your "wisdom" not to do so and leave us increasingly frustrated with the product and its presentation. If you choose to hide, fine, that is your prerogative that we sadly have almost no control over. But, please don't then appear from your hiding place rocking your pram and shaking your rattle over such an "unnecessary" issue. Ridiculous.

Have to agree..................they communicate under protest, yet complain that the forum speculates.
Better communication would lead to a much less frustrated, friendlier, forum.
