Is gambling in South Africa still a “sin"

I have never heard betting mentioned in SA sports broadcasts – not rugby, one day cricket or even 20 over cricket – not in any sport.
The Ram Slam T20 challenge is currently been played, and listening and watching it you would think that betting on these events is non-existent.
It simply seems taboo.

In overseas broadcasts the betting is always mentioned – be it bookies odds or “TAB” odds.
They often talk about different sportsman having an interest in horses and punting e.g. Ponting and Brendan McCullum.
I just heard that Brendan has a bat called Black Caviar – which he has given to the owners of Black Caviar. (He has another bat called Frankel.)

While they were talking about this, they showed an insert of Black Caviar winning a race – this during a cricket test!

I recall a few years back when I frequented a certain pub I often tried to have a R100 even on a sportsmatch(rugby soccer) etc with any of the other patrons just to make it interesting(I did not really care who they chose to back). It was almost impossible to match that bet - Hell just to get a person to have a beer on a match was difficult enough. It was almost as though betting on Sports would 'spook' the team you supported. I think this mentality is still part of local makeup.

It's a boy I shouted, I don't believe it it's a boy

It was then that I promised myself that I would never ever visit another Thai brothel

Last night my sister in law sat on my sunglasses. It was my fault as I should have taken them off
