R5 Lingfield China Girl E/W. Some of her better fancied rivals are finding it hard to win and she is much less exposed and still capable of plenty of improvement. Can make the first three at least at around 15/2.

R7 Wincanton Ma'ire Rua. A really dreadful race where most of the runners are totally out of form or have never shown any ability in the first place. The selection comes here off a fair reappearance, likes the track and handles very testing ground. Has very little to beat and is well up to winning this. 5/2 (Ladbrokes) is a very good price.

A GAMBLE went badly awry on Thursday as the quartet of well-backed Sheena West-trained horses were all soundly beaten.
Fintan, who had been backed into 6-4 from 6-1 for the 2m4f hurdle, dropped out of contention a long way from home.
Half an hour later Landscape delivered an equally underwhelming performance in another 2m4f hurdle.
Over at Lingfield, Tee It Up Tommo travelled well into the straight but found little for pressure to finish at the rear of the field, while the last of the West-trained horses, Well Painted, also finished out the back in the closing amateur handicap.
All four horses are owned by Daniel Steele, who told At The Races this morning: "They [bookmakers] are definitely all running scared.
"They were all huge double-figure prices last night and I think everyone has followed on, but I can assure you there is no big money laid down.
"They all have each-way chances, but they are all competitive races, so I'd be delighted if I come back with one winner, never mind four.
"They are all on good marks and are as fit as they can be. We've got them in doubles, trebles, Lucky 15s and I'm sure it would be a fairly big liability for the bookmakers, seeing as they are all running for cover."
