"Group" RESULTS - 'Evening' Saturday 17th May Workings...

Evening.

This evening completed, and went as follows......

The 1st runner we wanted 1.3, and with being around 1.46 on arrival and never dropping down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner hacked up, so a good leave......

The 2nd runner we wanted 1.6, and with being around 1.95 on arrival, getting bigger, and not coming down to our lay price at any stage at all, it was another race to avoid for all. The runner ran a very poor race, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'...........

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.2, but a non runner and 3.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.16. The price was bang on that on arrival, and so we had a lay at 2.16. The lay went and won a battling race, so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it........

The 4th runner we wanted 2.4, and with being slightly higher on arrival and then dropping down to us and slightly beyond, we had a lay at 2.4 max. The lay went and won a battling finish, so the way it goes. Traders again got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it............

The 5th runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 3.05 on arrival and only gettting bigger and bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won a battling finish, so a nice priced winner (returned 5/2 sp), but more importantly a good leave.......

The 6th and final runner we wanted 2.7, and with drifting to around 2.9 on arrival and then dropping down to us, we had a lay at 2.7. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.0 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won a 4 way battle, so the way it goes, but pleased with the 'free' lay and no damage done..........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED................(5 from the 6 went and won (83.33%) - So a very tough evening, and 5 runner players will look back and smile!)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) had to let the first two runners go by without action, so that left them with an insufficient amount left to start a strategy/target, and so they leave the evening without play....

'Bank building' strategy/target players (only 4 runner players due to 5 runner builders running out of potential lays) had their 1st lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.16 max, but a poor result see them go behind early............They then had their 2nd lay (the 4th runner) at 2.4 max, but another poor result see them go further behind...............They then had a 'free' lay (the 6th runner) that went and won, so pure relief this time............That's where it ended, and so a 2 target loss for 4 runner builders, and looking back it could've been so much worse, so well battled guys, 'if' you bothered playing with it looking so tough...

'Bank builder' 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100.

1st lay £100 to win as much as the £100 target @ 2.16 max. Result negative. Lose £100

Total bank now £300

2nd lay £100 to recoup as much of the £100 @ 2.4 max. Result negative. Lose £100

Total bank now £200

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £200

Overall result. Concede 2 targets..

Traders didn't lose a penny, so with all those winners they'll go to sleep feeling they won!

So we expected a tough evening, and we got one! All apart from 4 runner builders will be smiling with getting away with it, and evn though 4 runner 'builders' had to concede a little, they'll know it could've been so much worse, so well battled guys. Speak in the morning guys..

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 16:29pm.

That's what we have to work on for this evening then. Looks a very tough task ahead of us, as a few early favourites should take the world of beating. However! we just about have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so we'll hope the value pays the way. Good luck and speak soon...
