TAB payouts

After years of taking exotics (including providing open tote bets at Tattersalls)eventually you get pretty accurate at calculating estimated dividends (particularlyPA's)
Some years ago there was a very definite lowering of PA dividends,relative to results,and I submitted my concerns to Saftote ..........................any impropriety was strongly denied ,but payouts returned to normal within days!
I can say that for the last month the PA dividends are reflecting similar low values,relative to results again,and I wonder if its a repeat!
It is also strange that this tends to occur when the system is sporadically having technical issues with "tickets going forward"....................have any serious PA players noticed less "value" recently?

Rob so I am not the only one that has noticed this trend. I have actually stopped playing the PA.I now invest a lot more time and energy on the Bipot and have so far been rewarded handsomely.

Well my first chat was to a couple of close mates who are big PA players .........................they all say they are battling to make positive returns and a couple are,like you ,talking about turning up PA's !!

(even todays PA,paying R1640 was poor value IMO..................I would have been pissed off if I had got it and got that pay-out!)

I can't quote with authority but I often follow tickets going forward on Tab Gold(obviously not every day - today I did not have a bet as I've decided Flamingo is a waste of time) and from what I have seen there is no skulduggery and I am often surprised to see horse I don't see placing(reflected in the betting) carry more tickets than I would expect.

Its not valid if we don't know how its done if at all

Rob have a look at Plumpton Race 4 today. Two trifectas declared but number 4 runs third according to the PA results but there is a trifecta declared with the 2 running third as well but not in the PA. Officially 4 ran third but Attheraces got the trifecta declared with number 2 :ohmy:

Today's PA 4 favorites did hit the board with You Beauty bringing in the original favourite. Fair payout I guess.

Sometimes I see payouts that are either too low or too high and the only way to make the punter at ease to continuously update the tickets going forward.

Also especially the overseas pools I have scooped the whole pool so at times it just can be a punters lucky day. A bit ARM there

Perhaps its just becoming more difficult to stay ahead of the take-out but it just seems a lot of punters (PA particularly) are grumbling!

I agree with you. Recently , I am gatfol with the returns that I am achieving.
Even my wife is sick of me telling her "I got my money back" or " I lost half my investment.

My must add that my PA's are usually taken with Hollywood and sometimes on Interbet

Thanks Deeno,I know you are a serious PA punter so its the returns that guys like you are getting that are a reasonable measure as to whether the value may have changed!

I find that the Turfontein pa never has value. The payouts are always lower than expected. I find the bet with biggest value is the jackpot quick mix. It has tremendous value, much more than a normal jp with similar odds.

Bookie place atc bets not an option going forward ?

Very true with quick mix. sometimes with odds on winning i have seen it go up to as much as 4 times from previous let.pays better than normal jackpot
