That is interesting cos the PA blitz also returns very good value,relative to the PA's of the individual meetings! ..................often the same result,that is included in 2 PA's has a much different affect on them ????
Have always assumed that it must be down to different type patronage!

Sometimes I think that I should rather take a double than the PA.

Take eg last Friday... My mates took the Campbell double and they were smiling.

I decided against that and did the PA and lost most of my 2k.

Now HOW DO ME EXPLAIN THIS ONE? Look at the RACE CLOSED PAYOUTS - How is it possible suddenly for all those final place dividends to change so drastically? I watched racing yesterday and the final prices showed after closing was the same as the official. Love to hear some explanation!!

I'm not sure of the rules on UK Tote betting but are there not 4 places 16 or more runners? The field was 17 so there must be a place missing which could account for that mess.

The SA tote pays 4 places on all fields with 16 or more runners.

The UK tote only pays 4 places for 16 or more if it's a handicap.This race was a plated race.

Maybe the SA tote was showing as if paying 4 places,but once the pools had been co-mingled and the rules implemented as 3 places as the UK pool must be the host pool,the dividends were declared as such?

Only thing I could think of.

....I have been griping about these payout oddities since the day dot.....not ever going to hear from the PTB....SO what's the use of complaining....

On Saturday, Royal Ascot Race 5, the pool was not commingled so one lucky punter had R3 each way on number one which paid a whopping R117 a place and it ran second. I unfortunately placed the favorite and another runner which was in the betting but they ran off the board, the both of which was paying in an excess of R30 a place. For some reason never see the one paying so much a drum. The pool was just over a R1000 so for R10 I thought I was going to hit it big.

My bets was placed on the open bet btw.

.....1st time I have played a PA this year.....gave up on the local PA's because of sh!t value
my stake today was ZAR64.....just a test run for fun....

Todays payout you could say was an extremely high payout of R4400. Fancied runner won the first leg, the second leg was always the favorite on the french tote from the morning (tipped first in the quick mix tabsheet and the favorite in the forecast betting, the third leg the winner was deep in the red from the morning on the french tote (3 wins in a row on the tabsheet, tipped as the winner), the last leg the winner was paying R8 for a win 2 hours before the race on the French Tote). That said the fields was big. Not complaining about the payout today for sure

BTW, the French Tote site is pmu.fr

Its a guide only but normally a good indicator especially for runners in the harness. Seen lots of horses disqualified in the French harness racing though.

.....Shaneen deserves a big bonus for talking up the pools and letting people know about the various venue exotics pools which have been significantly larger of recent.....I actually thought that there would be a bi-pot in HK but the PA will be my future play on a Wednesday
......that is if Saftote carry on with consistancy and continue offer this bet option at this venue
