Interbet- whats the point
9 years 5 months ago
For the second time this week, exchange odds been offered on some runners has been less than the ruling price.............................and bearing in mind the extra commission ,that is a joke!
I realise that it reflects offers by individual bookmakers ,but a ruling requiring "ruling price" as a minimum makes sense!

Interbet's "last odds" for both Aurum Pot and Moofeed are one rung lower than the official odds although Interbet's "last odds" are the same or much higher for the remaining five runners. So how do we compare apples with apples?
The % book for Interbet shows 112.45% and the % book for the official odds 114.3%. If we add the 3% commission then Interbet's gross % of 115.45% certainly made it more expensive to punt than the official odds for this race just before the "off".

This does happen from time-to-time and I have commented on it to Interbet on more than one occasion.
There is, however, a solution if you are looking to get on. Their Quickbet site offers you R10,000 OF any runner at the 'official' price WITHOUT a commission. And you get loyalty points for striking the bet on that site. In many cases this makes it pretty competitive with the exchange price and, at least, you get on.

10k of a horse and it seen as generous? My oh my what have bookmakers become? I personally believe that the answer is not to bet with these corporate chains and Interbet. Rather support your independent bookmaker who will lay you far better limits. Interbet fixed odds are poor as they seem to mirror Betting World prices and these are generally a point behind the other bookmakers.
