MANIPULATION OF THE TOTE

Is it me or does someone notice that everytime the winner comes past the post that the tote which this horse won was paying R6.50 which should have updated by the middle of the race, but when finished watching the race then going on to the toteboards it shortens to
R3.80 for example. I have been keeping an eye on this the last month and its happened on a few occasions like 2 or 3 races everyday. And i am not talking about favourites, its always the 4-1, 5-1 & 7-1 shots. Its amazing. I SMELL A RAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are many factors to take into account even before the latest power cut issues over the weekend but timing ( where bets cancelled after the off) Co mingling , etc.
It was suggested that all bets be stopped maybe 2 mins before the off but many punters take big bets at the off, so that option was not agreed and in the rest of the planet it's norm.
I guess you will just have to live with the swings because if your payout is going down probably someone else somewhere is going up? You know these Aussies can be lucky buggers !

I agree. I had a bad experience with tote about 2 weeks ago. Backed a horse which was 8/1 with books (uk racing). Was paying R10.80 on tote. Horse won and then there was a a 1 hr delay in payout. The monitor still showed R10.80 when frozen after the off. The final payout was R3.80. I was so disappointed and vowed never the play the tote again. There is definitely something strange.

Well Friday night exposed something the tote has been denying ..................the co-mingled portions of exotics had to be refunded as they had not been "co-mingled" into our pools hours after the pools closed .....................if that doesn't leave room for manipulation then I give up!
We have queried for ages why 5/1 shots are suddenly paying R1 a place since co-mingling.................have to believe (based on above) final co-mingling takes place after race is run!!!!!...................so what is the point of manipulating R1 payouts ........discounts and commissions perhaps??????

Race 6 Southwell, the winner a 28/1 shot pays our R14 odd for a tote win but is the tote favorite in a 7 runner field. Mind you the favorite did get scratched. How can a horse pay R14 and be the tote favorite and there is no 14 horses running and even in that scenario the take will be make that impossible. The only way this R14 tote favorite be achieved if money from the Tote itself is added in as a bonus like what they going to do in the near future for the Zim Race 5 pool. Bob please send this to Vee.

Even the Jackpot Quick mix got affected by this.

The other night , the abandoned Grenville meeting exposed the fact that our operators cannot guarantee the efficacy and security of the pools as , due to incompatible systems the pools are not centralized when the bet closes.
Last night ,they were not giving any details of tickets (Meydan) and then the result of the 7th race took over an hour ......another 15 mins for the PA and no dividend for the Jpot.
Saftote should be stopped co-mingling until they have sorted system interface so the data can be secure when the bets close ........they are not applying there own rules!

The Southwell Race 6, my guess its human error and the person capturing the results, inserted the winner as the tote favorite and I cant find any plausible explanation that a runner that has returned R14.70 for a win on the tote is the tote favorite in a 7 runner field. There was no commingling for the last couple races at Chelmsford which led to astronomical payouts in certain bets.

Surely Southwell race six cannot be right.The fav at 5-10 gets scratched and the only other one in the betting(3-1 before scratching no.3) comes fourth yet a 25-1 shot who wins becomes tote favourite.Pa punters very happy though.

Due to the error with the Southwell PA's, Jackpots and the Jackpot Mixa from last night where the wrong Tote favorite was declared in the 6th race from Southwell we have been unable to pay any tickets. We are awaiting a decision from the Tote as to what the dividends will be. This should be done in the next hour.

surely they should be accountable!

What is also strange is that before the scratching of the short priced favourite, the 5 was paying R9.90 but the final dividend, after the scratching and refunds, was R14.70...how does that happen ??
