Why am I not surprised!

Meydan race 5 and we have horses playing up in the pens, taken out and vet checked, reloaded and then a false start where a handler falls somehow as the gate open, then more vet checks and then one of the original horses messes around and is taken out and scratched and not a single word is said by anyone on ABC. Now if that happened here in SA and especially in GC country we would already have had a flood of posters commenting on how badly schooled our horses are, how bad our handlers are and it could only happen here etc! 1 eyed watching at its best!!!!

It happens once in a blue moon in the UAE Craig, that's the difference.

It was a shambles there Craig..... gates should not have been released with the handler still in front.

9 years 4 months agosorry to disappoint you craig but I have never actually commented on the above issue however watching tt for decades it is the exception overseas whereby here in sa its become the norm so much so that the nhra have decided to step in to improve the current situation..i notice you getting quite a complex about your beloved gold circle :lol:Craig Eudey wrote: Meydan race 5 and we have horses playing up in the pens, taken out and vet checked, reloaded and then a false start where a handler falls somehow as the gate open, then more vet checks and then one of the original horses messes around and is taken out and scratched and not a single word is said by anyone on ABC. Pirates, I am not picking on you personally. I believe that if anyone posts that SA is bad at anything and then they see the same thing happening elsewhere then they must say the same thing. A persons opinion must be balanced. That's all.

Did not mean to thank you for your post. Pressed the wrong instruction, What I meant is if according to you this is a run of the mill card then I ask this. Why do you get a boner for a Kimberley card or a Vaal sand card.

I have been particularly critical of our starts in recent times ..........................cos it happens once in Meydan ,does that make it OK to happen 2 or 3 times a day ,in SA.............................its the justification of what goes on that is our greatest barrier to improvement!
Let me put it another way Craig ..................do you think our starts could do with a bit of improvement (and I include schooling of horses from some stables)?.................or are you satisfied with everything ?

On another note the TT team focussed on a tour of the Kenilworth track yesterday before the 1st race and I was surprised to see that it did not look in peak condition
You would expect more now that they are getting Breeders Cup invites and Million Dollar races?
With the Dubai incident which I did not watch, it is not a regular occurrence for sure otherwise some eagle eye eould have brought it to light on the forum.

There was more shit at the start at today's meeting than there has been at Meydan in 5 seasons....................it's become a bloody circus .................lets hope they have more problems elsewhere cos it makes the incompetence of our industry acceptable!!
