Hard to say but you right SAP01 . They deserved to win but one has to feel for Chelsea and especially John Terry and Frank Lampard. These two have put their heart and soul into Chelsea FC .

The John Terry "cut out and keep" penalty shoot out competition will no doubt be the number one xmas present for the little red mancunians this xmas.

Chelsea the better side for 55 mins of normal time and unlucky imo.

What oher two trophies? The premiership and the Champions League..whats the 3rd one? You say United should have been three up..i recall Petr Chech making two brilliant saves and Tevez been put off his strike by great defensive play by Makalele..Thats why teams have goalkeepers..to save the ball. In the secondhalf Chelsea outplayed United and should have won..in the end i suppose United deserved to win because they were unbeaten throughout the competition and they did defend very well last night. When you say head and shoulders above the rest I dont think so..you won the title by 2 points..you lost at home to Portsmouth in the FA Cup and you lost both of your games against Manchester City. You were knocked out of the league cup at home by Coventry City..but although it pains me to say this...well done Manchester United on a terrific season.

They had a great season but agree with Chris's original comments that Chelsea were a bit stiff. United may have had a few chances early but Chelsea hit the woodwork twice and had United under the cosh at times.

Still a sign of character the way they hung on and took their chance in the shoot out when it came.

I love the drama of penalty's but really feel for the guys who miss - Terry in particular - it is sad that a mans career can be defined by one kick.

What price at least one of Scholes / Giggs signs for Sunderland before start of next season?

None..I think that Scholes will retire over the summer and Giggs will go into coaching at United. Last night saw the end of a number of players careers at their clubs..Lampard and Drogba (Inter Milan) Carvello,Bridge,Wright Phillips and Cudicini also on their way out. Van der Sar, Neville,Pique and Saha could also leave.

If Scholes does join and Keane gets two more experianced Premiership players then I think that Sunderland can look at coming in the top 12 next season
