the trainers and jockeys should have refused to take the horse out to race until they turned down the music, so they are just as guilty as those who allowed the music to go on. People just dont think logically or use common sense anymore

The "RICH" cape folk would race for nothing as long as the value of their stock remains the same

They would race each other for nothing as long as their was black typed involved and can sip their wine in peace and the riff raff was kept of their lawns (who are these peasants)

Big race meetings are paid for by sponsors (but they don`t want bookmakers sponsoring races, how common old chap) and punters and put on by the operators.

They need to understand that their is more to racing than a dozen or so stud farms in Cape Town

After race concerts are a huge success in the UK,concert goers pay entry for the races and see the act Free.
Gets the youngsters in early for a few drinks and then they enjoy the music.

Wow thats a bit harsh Bob. If it were not for these rich folk then 1000s would be without a job and even more would go hungry. Let them be as without their money racing would go down the tubes.

The emphasis here imo should be 'after race' - so turn the race course into a disco, but not while racing is happening - and if you get 10,000 people less during the day, so what - they are not contributing to the pools in any huge way - so let them come in later if they so want

So for once I fully agree with Nr Freedman

If that is the case why did the NHRA not put a stop to the music or charge the operator. They have a duty to protect horse, rider and punter. If they were actually independent then they would act in cases like these instead of just hiding behind sunglasses and hats!!
