Just had an sms from Louis Goosen

He says is Filly Winter Breeze stubbled after the line in the thick grass ,Pierre Fell off and landed on his collar bone and they are dreading what they are seeing as there is a lump there.

He said Piere is fine talking and in good spirits but it does look like hes done some damage and will keep us posted..

Piere has been moved to Union Hospital in Alberton where he will undergo surgery for his broken collar bone, probably tomorrow.
He was very unhappy with the going, when I got to him, as he lay on the turf, winded and clutching his shoulder. I was the first one to get to him today. This brought back memories of his fall off Forest Field, also after the finish line, at Germiston many years ago. Same scenario....
This is Piere's 4th broken collar bone in his long and distinguished career. It looks easy on Telly, being a Jock. ...

Absolutely true that being a jock looks easy on TT. I for one admit I often throw comments at jocks and it's these moments that makes one think with the other shoe on.
