"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Friday 23rd May Workings...

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed, and went as follows....

The 1st runner we wanted 2.8, and with being around 2.88 on arrival and then there being a withdrawal and 26.1% reduction, we now wanted a lay price of 2.33 (2.34 nearest exchange price). There was then an immediate second withdrawal and further 8.5% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 2.22. The price dropped to around 2.0, and shortened, so we had a lay at 2.0 max. The lay went and won without any fuss, so the withdrawals did us no favours, but the way it goes.....

The 2nd runner we wanted 3.3, but a no runner and 5.4% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.18. The price had drifted to around 4.1 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner ran 'ok', but was still beaten and so the drift justified, and 'one that got away in hindsight'....

The 3rd runner we wanted 2.4, and with being a well supported 2.08 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.08. The lay looked in a bit of trouble 3 out, but his experience and battling qualities see him win quite well in the end (wouldn't back him against a few in this race, next time though). Anyhow the gamble obliged and the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it....

The 4th runner we wanted 2.7, and with drifting to around 2.96 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price again, so race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner looked the winner, but was done late to finish 2nd, so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though...

The 5th runner we wanted 2.94, and with being a well supported 2.22 on arrival and slightly shorter, we had a lay at 2.22 max. The price then went for a big drift and out to our own price of 3.25 and way beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes, but glad of the big drift now and 'free' bet..............

The 6th runner we wanted 3.3, but a non runner and 7.7% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.12. The price was a well supported 2.74 on arrival, so we had a lay at 2.74. The lay was nicely beaten, so a good result.....

The 7th runner we wanted 3.2, but a non runner and 4.2% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.11 (3.1 nearest exchange price). The price had drifted to around 3.25 on arrival and never came back down to us, so a race to avoid for race to race players. The runner went and won a battling finish, so glad of the drift now and a good leave.........

The 8th runner we wanted 2.4, and with being around 3.1 on arrival and not coming down anywhere near our lay price at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave..........

The 9th and final runner we wanted 3.0, and with drifting to around 3.45 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, and so glad of the drift now and a good leave..........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED.......................(2 from the first 3 (66.66%) went and won - 3 from the first 5 (60%) went and won - and then 6 from the 9 (66.66%) in total - So very tough, especially with drifters thrown in also, but we limited any damage, and so well battled guys)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Had to concede 2 targets...........Started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, and after a real battle, they ended up clawing a little back on what was to be their 4th and final lay (the 6th runner) and so they ended this very tough session conceding 2 targets...

'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 1st runner) at 2.0 max, but a poor result see them go behind early..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 2.08, but another poor result see them go further behind.........Then came a 'free' lay (the 5th runner) that only bought relief...........They then had their 3rd lay (the 6th runner) at 2.74, and a good result see them win a chunk back..........That's where they had to leave it, and so they had to concede between 1.14 - 1.43 targets, and so a little loss, but a good effort with looking back...

Traders had to concede a little on the 1st runner at 2.0 max, but all others see them win a little, or break level, so they end the session levels at worst, and that will suffice on such a tough session..

So what a tough session that was with all those winners and drifters, and although we never like conceding a bit, we had to this afternoon, but no real damage done, and overall we did a good enough job considering. Well battled and speak later..

If we see 2.8 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although lightly raced, he showed he can take them along last time, and so 'may' adopt the same tactics for this afternoon - Also please note that more emphasis has had to go on the early market for clues, concerning this race*

2.55 Newmarket. JEER (2.6)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 2.7 or under. *Traders be aware, that although he's usually just off the pace in his races, he did race more prominently last time when winning, so 'may' adopt the same tactics this afternoon*

4.50 Brighton. SUSIE MAY (3.15)

Our price 23/10 (3.3) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.0 or under, we'll go in for a lay.

All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 09:50am.

That's our work for this afternoon then. Not too many to work around, so not much room for error early doors, but we do have enough within our armoury to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way, as always. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings...
