With respect, interviews of regulatory bodies should be a little more investigative than looking like an advert for the association ..........................Andrew Bonn is going to have an incredibly brown nose after this series-he could make a slum look like a holiday destination!
I would like to take half a dozen rules to them and lets discuss a)why those rules exist and b)how they are being enforced!

To be effective the NHRA also requires an effective police force. We have a police force that is not even bothered with horse racing never mind effectivity.

NO serious enforcements exist . Perhaps only doping tests . They should look at our country that is so corrupt and wonder how clean is Racing ?? Racing does not want any negative publicity !! When in fact it would give punters more confidence risking their cash knowing STRICT and CONSISTENT monitoring exists with punishments for offences
There is never any negative publicity , involving - trainer , jockey , bookie , etc...When last has anyone been found guilty of corruption ?? OR is everything swept under the carpet
In Hong Kong they follow the Jockeys/ or anyone around +++++ . Check Betting volumes if ANY circumstance requires investigation -
Fortunately they do not have Bookies to LAY favourites - so public can bet with less against them
Punters would be more confident if they knew everyone is being watched and monitored. Jockeys causing interference or not riding out to the line - Trainers giving horses a run e.g. French Navy at 5/10 recently.
I wish I was a bookie and knew he was not ready PERHAPS some did ?
WAS anything checked ?????
Fortunately for me I do not play below even money, but MANY will take 5/10 for doubles/trebles
It will only take 1 hefty punishment to make industry aware that nobody is immune or untouchable and then hopefully they will continue with consistency
Like a Casino surveillance is there for ALL .
Racing is lucky that for many of us it is in our blood so we will always partake and bet , but many owners/punters have left the game and a lot of betting turnover has been lost due to different circumstances

Well said Markg.Agree with you .The administrators believe if everything is out in the open they will lose money BUT it is actually the opposite,if they punish offenders and make it public, then they win the trust of the public ,hence confidence to bet on their product.

100% ...........same principle the banks work on ..................almost no staff are ever charged with theft or fraud .......................so the public will think they never have any dishonest employees.................................and we sure know better than that!
But if you don't expose any skullduggery , there can't be any!!

We need policing of this industry. At the moment none exist. Our government does'nt care that ordinary people are being duped out of their cash regularly. The only way these operators will listen to punters is the day they realize they could lose their monopoly!!!We need more competition ,then you see how fast the operators call you to ask your opinions.

Nhra seems to be toothless.
But given the state of the country what can we expect, is it right no.
Imo just got to be very cautious I guess and watch market prices like a hawk with certain stables in SA- find they are a fairly good guage of fit and readyness here - closer to the off time especially.
