R4, think Lady Maher is the one to beat. Her debut was against the boys and over a distance way short of what she tackles tomorrow. You would have to think if the stable did not believe she would stay the extra 600m, they would have found a race over shorter than she tackles. The next in the market, Bird Valley, just as difficult to say whether she will stay having gone the furthest of 1800m and never quite challenging, yet performing better when dropping back in distance. Bourbon Rush did well over 2000m after racing handy from a fairly wide draw last time. Going to take a stand and say but for the draw regards this one's winning chances.

R5, His Legacy was fancied when the Turffontein meeting was abandoned on the 01/03. The trick here is to try and establish whether you feel His Legacy could be better than rated, or not. Conversely, do you feel that Rainy Day Blues is correctly rated at 83, if not, then he would be conceding more weight than is necessary to His Legacy, in which case it would be a no brainer who to row in with.

Rafeef must be better rated than a 67 surely. Didn't show much when dead heating to win his maiden but was thrown into a grade 1 first time out and think he could have plenty more to offer. 5/1 a nice price

I don't fancy Rumbling Lion's winning chances. He is a 5 year old and only a two time winner, which for me, doesn't make him the progressive type. Even with a relatively low weight, I think he has it all to do against the lesser exposed but more progressive sorts in the race.

I am sure you appreciate horse racing is not an exact science, whilst I may not fancy the chances of a horse in a particular race, that doesn't mean it cannot win. One of the rules to betting is never let someone talk you off a winner, stick to what you know and have a go on your fancy. If you still in doubt, don't bet (in that race) or load up in your exotic.
