I do prefer win but no objections to place bets but only at 1/4 odds with sportingbet
I sometimes watch the fixed odds betting on tellytrack and Betting world are embarrassing no idea who takes the place prices?

Win betting to 124.96%

Place betting 391.7%

How can anybody think that places are the way to go?

If they were betting places to 350%, yes possibly places can be a consideration – but 16% worse than win bets? – it’s a no brainer.

I am in Australia and luckily we can use Betfair on your races. So place betting at 305% is quite viable. No one could ever bet the place with the 360% deduction on your tote plus the rounding down of the dividends
