very difficult today so maybe i will fluke a winner or two. Just going to concentrate on Newmarket, Thirsk and Goodwood.

Dont particularly like Spencer much (often leaves it to late) but think he has decent chances in 1st 2 @ Good.

Fancy Mutamakkin in the opener at Newmarket

Air Force Blue is a beast but at 6/10 and some stamina doubts, you're not going to get rich with that. I like a bit of the Racing Post Trophy winner Marcel at 9/1. Also small e/w on Herald the dawn 20/1, the full bro to Dawn Approach who won the Guineas a couple of years ago.

Excited to see Jack Hobbs return today too.

What you fancy in the 2000 guineas chicken?

R3 Uttoxeter Wintered Well E/W. Has a good course record and has been in top form of late. Today's conditions are ideal and he can make the first four at least at 9/1 or better.

R5 Hexham Ardea. Would have been unbeaten last season if he hadn't jinked and unseated his rider at the last on his hunter chase debut at Kelso three weeks ago (would have won - still cantering at the time). This is, if anything, slightly easier and, if he is none the worse for that mishap, he will take all the beating here. 11/8 (generally available) is a fair price - is likely to go off shorter.
