Rob maybe you are because you haven't engaged with the people on the ground. Maybe you listen too much to people who themselves are making assumptions because they think they know how everything works. I say again, Assumptions are the mother of all f@#k ups!

Craig, everybody should be commended for trying to clarify misconceptions .......but that is not the same as diverting the attention from the real issue.
You already alluded to the fact that returning to only one track has been discussed......is that not perhaps a concession that the problem is that there never really was enough room for 2 high class racetracks!

Rob I think you have hit the nail on the head re the 2 tracks. I guess that is an issue to direct to the heirachy not the track managers?

Are you denying the track issues I refer to, or are you saying that they could be easily justified by the people on the ground!
..............and engaging with people on the ground should start with those people having the balls to identify themselves when debating issues!

(Kudos to Craig for putting his name to all his posts - I don't always agree with him but I will always respect him)

RF I will check on my facts but I seem to remember that it was all done to have 14 horse fields and then the golf club backtracked on the amount of land that GC could buy off them. DLI gave them as much as they wanted.

I am sorry but that doesn't make things better ,in fact on the contrary ...............are we saying that Gold Circle embarked on a multi million expenditure without the necessary non-retractable agreements in place?

As I said RF I will check if my memory is right. Always going to be a polytrack but I think the size was determined by the land given. Could not go on the outside so had to go inside and use what they could.

Craig I would really like to meet and listen to Kurt inform me about the poly track. More info always helps. At the same time though I would appreciate him taking me around the turf track and explain the subtle nuances of why the f... he cant get the grass to grow properly. Those are the answers Im most interested in as my whole whinge has been about the turf track. Ill pm you when Im up in Durbs over the next 2 months. Craig I respect you for what you are always trying to achieve bud, but then you also support the Sharks :P
Besides I still owe you a beer or two. ;)
