Owners either brain dead or trainers better suited for politics. How can owners be so gullible?

So trainers were paid 300 million for no wins??? And 130 million for no earnings at all......wonder what the vets bills were?

The top 50 horses earned more than R500k each.
The next 100 more than R250k each
The next 250 more than R150k each
The next 600 more than R100k each
The next 1400 more than R50k each
The next 600 more than R25k each

So the top 1000 (15%) gave their owners fun and profit on running costs
The next 2000 (30%) gave their owners fun and covered a fair chunk of expenses.

The above ignores the capital outlay. The moral of the story is that you should not expect a profit from owning horses, but you should be having fun, and profits are a bonus.

I agree Peter & Dave but that is after all a dream or everyone who owned and raced horses would give their winning proceeds to charity and not bet at all on racing, back to the days of Kings and .....
