Vaal Thursday 30th June

Find it pretty amazing that a horse like Flag of France has been allowed to go up and down the ratings like a yo yo all his career , after 8 wins sure they must know by now he incosistent or inconsistently handled

Team G comments
Race 1 - Hamunaptra, rested expect improvement from last.
Race 3 - Risk All, will need experience.
Race 8 - Respectable Ruler, disappointing of late and hope to see some improvement.

Another stay clear day for me until the last race where I fancy the chances of Wild Horizon. My only bet of the day.

Wrecking Ball - ran well on debut, go close with expected improvement
Pippi Shortsock - Bad draw but shes hit form and so is Goose
Resolute Captain - Can race handy might suit this track

Lovely day on the South Coast - but of course predictions are that things will change by Saturday
Some thoughts on an average card from the Vaal - though for those that need some ammo for Saturday, perhaps rather keep the kitty intact
R1: Not the easiest start - Electric Lady has run 6 lengths behind GR 1 performer Fursa, while Jewel Quest ran 7 lengths behind Myfunnyvalentine - has won again so now carries 62 - still the form of these two may be better compared to the rest - and especially Jewel Quest looks value at the odds
R2: Sabre Dance all at see on debut, ran on nicely and is my first choice for an in-form stable; 2nd place to be fought out by Sky High Flyer, Timeofthevikings and Soul Pilgrim
R3: Risk All as per the Team G info should need the experience, which means that the race probably lies between Queen Laurie and September Bloom - Pippi Shortsock should place from a poorish draw
R4: Tough maiden fillies as suggested by the betting - nothing stands out imo
R5: Hidden Agenda very short in the betting, but does look very tough to oppose; Flag of France tries blinkers and can upset if returning to best
R6: Very open handicap imo - Fort Meyers disappointed last time and now gets blinkers - surely no value at 18/10
R7: Weak field where if nothing else, Dawn Assault may provide a pointer as to the chances of Bold Rex in the Juvenile race at Greyville on Saturday - interesting betting support for Sundari, who has never really shaped on the turf, but has plummeted in the ratings from a 70 in Oct last year to 50
R8: Another open handicap where many hold chances - I think Tom Fool looks the right one and could prove Striker with a confidence builder (not that he needs one) heading into the July card on Saturday
Enjoy

My fancies:
R2 Sky high flyer, not convinced on saber dance maiden formline despite running all over the place. Dangers for me Diablo canyon and time of the Viking.
R3 Queen Laurie interests me. September bloom however the track may suit best of all.
R4 As stated wide open affair. Preference for countess Jemmina and one to include at a big price Jackies joy.
R5 I'm prepared to take on the fav with duty dance. Seldom gets a draw or luck in running, gets a decent draw and hoping DD can run the fav down.
R7 Zackey runners interest me and I think both will be right there.
R8 Preference for let it rain. Form of last run in MR 90 company looks respectable with Dakiwe coming out to win in MR 80 company. Let it rain was two lengths back of Dakiwe and now runs in MR 72 company, despite the draw, could be anything.
Not strong on anything but beware of the carry over before the big weekend.
All the best.
