Maybe Muthiman can confirm but I hear that the limits originally set were ludicrous. Found naturally in the body and also in an ordinary B vitamin injection and many other natural products.

Craig I am not a vet but what the guys were saying yesterday is that the vitamin B injections have returned positives. What was more interesting to me was the news that the Jockey Club have apparently not followed procedures correctly and any "guilty" finding becomes impossible because of this. Coupled with this was the explanation of the new rules were not done or were done after samples were already taken. There were some big names thrown around as to those being "caught" and apparently legal challenges have already been thrown should the Jockey Club proceed with action against the transgressors.

Just more evidence that the NHA are totally unqualified to regulate!

Will give some idea

.....Cobalt should not be present at any levels in any mammal as it is not produced and only introduced....it is a heavy metal and extremely toxic.....medically it is known to stimulate metabolism through the endocrine function of the thyroid or pituitary glands and should be medically controlled and administered to those that have metabolic problems....I would guess that this reported spate of positives could also be linked to this Vibrac B12 debacle as these shots are a daily regimen to many an equine athlete and any traces of cobalt would build up to unacceptable levels over the continuous use of tainted B12 shots.....

I would like to know, what would the penalty be, if any of our trainers are found 100% guilty? I ask because in Australia the trainers found guilty got severely punished.

Surely the authorities cant allow the guilty trainers to carry on cheating and robbing their fellow trainers and owners of stake money and prestige,not to forget the punters and the integrity of the sport which must be protected at all costs imho.
