Mike said to in a phone call one day after someone(99% sure we know who it was) said to him that I was slinging off about him on ABC :S that he does not read any forums. I would love to see everyone post under their own names. Many many people have asked me why I keep posting when I get slated( for a better word) by people who are faceless and many are so biased against GC and racing that it does not matter what is done they can only see the negative side. I said that that is precisely why I post. Not everything at GC is wrong, not everything in racing is wrong and although I can perceive to be biased in favour of the operators and racing, I am a hell of a lot closer to the coal face and know 99% more about what is happening than most posters do and try and help the ones that have not been sucked into this negativity to see the truth. There are problems with the track but as Mike says his horses pulled up well from the race and Justin Snaith said his horses pulled up better from their races here than anywhere else in the country but we still only get some posters harping on about Greyville and Scottsville. Mike and Justin would know if there horses were lame post race I am sure. I find it very hard to sit back and read the rubbish written by some posters when they probably would need a GPS to find Scottsville and the closest they have got to horses is riding one in the Berg but only have negative opinions that are read by possible new people in racing. Not everything in racing is right but not everything is wrong as some would like people to believe.

A trainer used to be probably most correctly described as "self employed" and had a team assisting him/her.
What has developed is some bigger stables where the business model could be more aptly described as a corporate type structure ,with branches (or franchises perhaps)
His operation is now less MdK ,but more "MdK Racing Stables" with him more in a CEO type role, and he is probably managing people more than directly managing horses!
The structure is clear to see so for him to react with such venom just makes no sense, because it is neither right or wrong, just a reality.
I see it the same way as some people support Builders Warehouse and some still like the corner hardware store, and it's good to have choices.
As a matter of interest,do satelite yards exist ,on a permanent basis ,anywhere else in the world?
On the "cyberspace" front, lets be honest ,we have had some really dumb ,irresponsible posters/posts,on a variety of subjects, over time, and that is what people will always remember most!
(I am not going to enter into the debate of "real name posting" as My feelings are well known....but not unanimous...but I do believe it would give the site credibility)

so he says people insult him yet he calls them idiots and morons. How ironic.
There have been unsavoury posts about the Mdk team in the past but it seems that the poster no longer is on ABC.
With regards to posters who choose to remain anonymous , it's like becoming a cyber
celebrity as there is little or no gain, reward or recognition for the many posters who take the time to post selections or share other stories for the benefit of clanners and other readers. CnC is one of those who is always missed when going AWOL and many would prefer to read Gregbucks rantings than other known posters bragging about their betting activities and grumbling about state of affairs of which they have no control of.
It makes an awful lot of sense for the De Kock stable to operate a yard in C.T. given the better state of tracks however what remains most baffling is why Cape trainers are willing to risk their animals to come and raid substandard tracks and bread and butter poly racing in KZN?
Will the Highveld not be a better option or rather stay in the Cape for the Winter racing and Summer feature racing on better tracks? :silly:

I think he had a tough season in SA. Noah from Goa a Highlight. no runners in lots of the flagship events in SA.
i don't think he was reefing to ABC he was talking about other sites.
a nom de plume as i would like to think of the avatars is way different from anon posting. ABC has lotsa our details if we truly got out of hand and resorted to slander and threat of violence.
this site has no or very little foul language.
this site is well moderated
when we lose 6 rand on a 3 rand each way bet we will get angry if the result is dubious or we were very confident.

You need to be a bit more thick skinned. If what MDK has said upsets anyone, then your taking things a bit to seriously.
He has the right to vent he's opinion,as we all do on here.Sometimes people's views are not agreed with and that's normal.
