brilliant reading and maybe the three geniuses should take mdk on a tour of greyville ..got to love the comment about ignoring the experts from britian and gold circle burying their heads in the sand..im sure our resident spin doctor and his regular sidekick will have different views

Ja I mentioned on the other thread he mentions the poor state of the track as the reason why Heavenly Blue misses the Premiers www.sportingpost.co.za/profile/mike-de-k...lls-a-spade-a-spade/

“In Durban, presently, the only good things about winter are good weather, the Durban July and playing golf,” he said.

Or maybe it's just you who's picking what's suits as usual?

A number of interesting points arise out of the Mike De Kock article :

1.) If you wish to post on social media your opinion might well have more 'weight' if ABC were to dispense with pseudonyms once & for all.

Maybe it is time for ABC to consider this option as it might have a positive outcome.

To his credit Craig Eudey - who attracts a fair degree of sometimes warranted but often unwarranted flak - has posted under his own name from the outset; as have a small handful of others. Myself included; although I have historically posted under my first name but would be happy to include my surname too if that was a requirement. My full details do, however, appear on 'Who Are You?'.

I certainly agree that the veil of anonymity is hardly conducive to credibility.

2.) The 'noise' regarding the state of the Greyville track surely deserves priority attention. Enough said.

3.) The introduction of the polytrack appears to have had unintended consequences. Enough said.

4.) The Gold Circle jurisdiction seems to have set in motion a course of action which is sending the region into a spiral of mediocrity. This could be very difficult to reverse.

5.) On a personal note I get no pleasure in seeing this region floundering in the mediocrity which now characterizes it. (An earlier post of mine addresses this in more detail). In rugby terms this would be akin to sending Vodacom Cup sides to compete in Super Rugby.......er......but haven't we already done that with the Kings? How's that working out in terms of spectator appeal & profitability?

If we are brutally honest the local training fraternity has, with a tiny number of exceptions, been reduced to the role of virtual spectators during this current season.

6.) What is not in debate is that Mike De Kock is an internationally successful trainer so you might like to pay attention to the issues he raises if you wish to see the class of animal that he trains perform on a track near you in the future.

Alternatively - if a regular grind of struggling mule meat is your thing then carry on as you are.

quote-I do not answer to idiots who lurk in cyberspace and use selected statistics to concoct lies and insults just to be hailed as heroes amongst themselves. These morons have little or no knowledge of horseracing and are insignificant in my life and of no value to the sport,” he said.-unquote

so he says people insult him yet he calls them idiots and morons. How ironic.

Mr de Kock is no doubt a great trainer - unfortunate that he is yet to learn that to every rule there are exceptions - and I take exception being called an 'idiot that lurks in cyber space' - I'm sure that on this site alone there are many who knows as much as he does in terms of racing in general - I'm not talking about training where he obviously is a master

He isn't the first "expert" to make revelations in Sporting post about stuff that had previously been posted on ABC by the "idiots in Cyberspace"....lol

He obviously took exception to suggestions that spreading his operations over 3 countries is affecting results(he was quick to point out that he has reduced his horses by a third)

Whichever way you look at it, if your horse is based in Jhb ,then saying your horse is trained by MdK is like saying you buy your groceries from Raymond Ackerman!!!

I realize that some think that training horses should be like supplying buns ,patties, a common sauce and a manual ,but I think many also believe that horses are individual enough to benefit from hands on experience!

Let me start by saying in my opinion the question by sporting post to MDK was a deliberate attack to highlight an individual post on ABC which was immediately met by a barrage of logical reasons from the majority of posters re focus on overseas, best horses leaving etc
I also remember making a comment that Mike has also treated me well and in fact I stood beside him in the parade ring when he hit the quartet on July day and was first to congratulate him after the horses hit the line, I also said on an earlier post that I am sure he does not scan the sites and have any sleepless nights but rather he gets sent one liners via whatsup etc to highlight what the "pricks" are saying deliberately leaving out the positives.
However I also don't have sleepless nights these days as SP have inherited their own "pricks"

I will admit to being taken aback by the attack on cyberspace morons lol. Dave/Bob perhaps he was referring to SP comments and not ABC? Imvho the comments on SP are far more deserving of the MdK reaction than the posts that I see on here.
