Robbed by the bookies
8 years 10 months ago
Today i placed a bet on the double with morris vee bookmakers on marinaresco onto flying ice at 17:39pm,which duely obliged. When i tried to cash my ticket i was told that i would only be payed out on marinaresco as all bets had been null on void on race because of the surface change. This is utter bullshit because i tried taking the bet 5mins earlier and i was told there was no betting out yet because of the adjustment. I feel very hard done by. What about the cases whereby patrons who laid their bets much earlier in the day loose there money in cold blood because they are not aware there horse is now a scratching. The bookies never lose because they are ever ready to screw over the punters who keep them running.

Yes bob it was after it wad announced thats i could get thr bet on at my first attempt. Craig Peters announced the change at the same time as he announced that the mike and carrol bass would be run on turf and the gold bracelet on the poly.

That is shocking. Hope the right people read your complaint. You'd be surprised at who reads these boards.

I spoke to a gentleman at Morris Vee who told me my bet would be honoured. Great customer service indeed.

Well done Morris
I checked my timing yesterday and I sent someone a message at 5:32 saying the 9th was being run on poly
So if they closed betting then and reopened at 5:39 imo they should pay
If it had never been closed then that's a different arguement

Gold Circle really are a joke, Saturday being another prime example. they moved the meeting 5 days earlier to Sunday but decide at 6pm on Sunday to move to Poly, what a bunch of useless morons. And as for the bookmakers they must just love Gold Circle, gives them plenty ammo to STEAL from the public. all those who took doubles in the morning where informed when they came to cash up, that there bets where null and void but no signs up saying come get a refund if your horse lost in that particular race, they should be investigated and closed down. Blatant STEALING from the public. IMO
