Well we all love the bookies getting smashed as punters, but was yesterday's gamble not more proof that race is at the will of manipulators ?

of course it is. one just needs to be a keen follower of racing for a year or so to see trends, moves, gambles etc. The job of us punters is sometimes not to decide which is the best horse in the race, but which horse is meant to win on the day.
thankfully though, sometimes, the cream of the crop do come out on top
which is why we keep punting.

Just watch a certain jockey that rides in SA.He is as bent as a donkey's hind leg..
I can pull up at least 5 dubious rides in the last 4 weeks, usually when the race has two standout form chances and he's on one of them. The one he rides normally gets a not so good effort.

Some upsets are obviously sudden and unforeseen ,but when a huge improvement is punted, its only cos they knew why the previous runs were poor!!!

Naaaaah. Only the poor performing punters blame it on that. But like all sports, its all the juice that bends it.

i have to agree with you,sad part is the guilty trainers get away with it because of the huge rug the authorities have to keep punters in the dark.

sadly the answer is a big yes, not all the races but quite a few and the jocks play a major part in those that are.
If you want trust, trust others. If you want respect, respect others. If you want love and peace in your life, give them away. If you want great friends, be one
