How fit would Roquebrune need to be to win ?
16 pounds in hand and 5-2. You don't see that too often.

Looking through the card race 2 was priced up at 109% by a bookie earlier

You can probably shop around and get it under 100%

Small fields further decimated by scratchings - still most races look very competitive....

R1: Anna Pavlova probably a worthy favorite as none of the first timers seem to be finding 'significant' betting support - however she is drawn what is probably the 'wrong' side and therefor I think at current odds of 8/1 Queen of the Lords may be worth an each way stab

R2: Not a lot between 5 of the 6 runners...Rafa looks overdue and would be my tentative first choice

R3: Sabre Dance also overdue - the 1700 may be a touch far so current odds look a bit cramped to me; Tafteesh could maybe push him to the line and would not have to be superstar to win ....those two stand out imo

R4: Very weak maiden - can't really make a case for any of them but the top 4 in the betting does look better than the rest and any of those could win if reproducing their best efforts

R5: Silver Class now best in after Negroamara has come out; however it's been 726 days since her last win, so perhaps the 3 yr old Carribena Queen could improve more to prove the handicapper wrong

R6: Roquebrune got his rating almost 20 months ago and then ran way below that in his comeback - so who knows; Tour of Duty looks held by British Royale on a line through Le Tigre, but I think that ToD has improved a lot and has plenty of improvement still to come - also BR may prefer 1000 - so ToD for me

R7: Nitrogen has been disappointing, but really looks the part at the weights today; if she fluffs her lines again, any of the other 4 could pick up the pieces

R8: Most open race on the card; but for me Miss Rambo was great value at 12/1 (when I backed her yesterday) - her rating has come down a lot (from 80 last year this time) and I think she is much better on galloping tracks; if the new stable has managed to get her back to her best I think she will be competitive.

Enjoy B)
