Smokey Affair - race over, Illdrinktothat - never seen him better! Looks like a well oiled machine! No weight on his back, good draw, luck in running - race over! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

HORIZON(tsunami) race 3

Jacobs Family Making Most of Their ‘Chances’…

It took a breeder of another kind to completely shatter the South African record for a yearling as top game breeder Piet du Toit went to R5.2 million to acquire the Dynasty colt offered as lot 48 by Dr. Andreas Jacobs’ Maine Chance Stud. Produced by Shina (Ger) (Lomitas {Ger}), the full-sister to 2013 South African champion sire Silvano (Ger), the colt is a half-brother to the Listed Derby Trial winner Solapur (Ger) (Ekraar).

RECORD PRICE YEARLING

Du Toit was delighted that he managed to buy such an outstanding specimen.

“I am so pleased that we managed to get him. I am going to name him Tsunami and he will be trained here in Cape Town by Mike Bass.”

This is the penultimate Kenilworth meeting before Cape racing moves to Durbanville for a few weeks, so no surprise to see some expensive youngsters making as appearance.
Race 1: Helens Bay and Rustar Dhow look the best of the raced horses, but must respect the newcomers.
Race 2: Cock a Hoop, New Caledonia and Black Parrott should fight this out, but again watch first timers.
Race 3: Icon King selected to beat Captain Marmalade and Trojan Quest. R5m yearling Horizon makes his debut.
Race 4:Imperial Dancer below best last two, but again has a shout. Come on Sonny looks next best, but quite a few others with chances- 3,4,7,9,12
Race 5: We have Silver Laurel running here- needed her last run a bit more than expected, and will be fitter this time. Has a wide draw to overcome, but has a winning chance. Jingle Belle the one to beat. Cautiontothewind and Daring Miss warrant respect. Our other runner, Dark Goddess, will enjoy the extra, and has a place chance.
Race 6:Prince of Wales and Friendly Tibbs are consistent, but anything could win this.
Race 7:We have Sun at Midnight running, and she has a good ew chance. Closely handicapped field and none can be ruled out.
Race 8: Smokey Affair and Anneline both look very progressive, with a preference for SA.
Streaming has good form. The older fillies will provide a test since they are getting weight, but I think the 3 yo's are good enough here. Note that Garden Tea Party ran 4 days ago.
Race 9: A very tricky race. Illdrinktothat looks progressive and is a likely winner. Chestnut Wild is well in at the weights. Turbulent Air looks decent, but has a wide draw. Storm Front has been consistent lately.

Also fancy Prince Of Wales, my punt for the day. Taken the double with The Great One in the 2nd.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
