"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Tuesday 3rd June Workings..
17 years 3 days ago
Afternoon,
This afternoon completed and went as follows....
The 1st runner we wanted 2.5 and with being around 2.58 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 2.5 max. The price then went for an alarming walk the other way and out to our own price of 2.8 and beyond, so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade came in 2nd behind the eventual well backed favourite and so a good result.......
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.6 and with drifting to around 1.74 on arrival and although dropping down, the price never quite came down enough for us before drifting alarmingly seconds before the off!, so a race to avoid for race to race players. The runner was well beaten and so the late money to oppose was spot on and the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr! Early traders happy though....
The 3rd runner we wanted 3.2 and with being 3.15 and slightly shorter on arrival, we had a lay at 3.15 max. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.5 and beyond, so another chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade was easily beaten and so a good result....
The 4th runner we wanted 3.1, but a non runner and 3.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.02 (3.0 nearest exchange price). The price was around 3.25 on arrival and then dropped down to us and beyond, so we had a lay at 3.0 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result....
The 5th runner we wanted 3.3 and with being around 3.2 on arrival, we had a lay at around 3.2. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 before coming back in again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for traders (builders finished) to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result...
The 6th and final runner was a non runner, so that completes a good afternoon's work...
WELL PLAYED....
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Won 1 target........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner and hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner). There was then not enough potential lays left to start another strategy/target and so they end the session winning 1 target...
'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit and see 5 runner builders end there with running out of enough potential lays to start a strategy. So they win 0.8 of a target on the session.....
4 runner builders then had another 'free' lay (the 3rd runner) that bought another tiny profit and they too were left with an insufficient amount left to start a 4 runner strategy, so end the session winning 0.16 of a target...
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10
Total bank now £410
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £9
Total bank now £419
They then ran out of enough potential lays left to start a 4 runner strategy.
Overall result. Win 0.19 of a target.

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8
Total bank now £408
They then ran out of enough potential lays to start a 5 runner strategy.
Overall result. Win 0.8 of a target.

Traders have won on all their trades thus far, so good luck with the last one guys..
So a decent enough session with rollers getting the wages nice and easy, but builders had to take the safe option and win a tiny amount, so although a bit frustrating, they'll also know that it pays to be safe over a period and so well played guys...Speak soon with this evening's workings..
Marc.

4.30 Ripon. HAWK ISLAND (2.16)
Our price Evens (2.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.7 or under, we'll go in for a lay. *Please note a 'little' more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*
All races priced up with non runners taken into account, up until 09:45am.
That's our work for this afternoon then. Looks tricky and complicated to be honest with the rains changing the ground and that unexposed nature out early, leaving us vulnerable to big drifters and gambles, but overall we have enough about us to warrant going into battle, so that's what we'll do. Discipline to the maximum as always and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings..
