Race 5 - Nero, has a good draw and is doing well, back to the 1600m and as each way claims here.
Race 7 - Work Ethic & Estimation, both have their first run after a break, this is on the short side and will need this run.
Race 9 - Brooklyn Brawler, has his first run for us and on the Highvelt, he will need this one.

@ Bayern, (from your post on the Cpt thread) I also fancy Cockade in the 3rd. However im drawn between a rock and a hardplace in a way. (Way 1) - Fortune has elected to ride this, when Alexander has a decent runner in the race which Fortune has ridden previously, so obviously has an idea (well I atleast hope). (Way 2) - Lerena has ridden it before and has elected the Peter runner. So I find myself asking - Who had first choice?

Follow the money, like most things in life.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Juxtapose 9/1 ? . will need run but seems neglected at that price
Also Macduff poor draw but isn't up there for the giggles I'm sure, probably worth a place.

Just a glimpse at the betting shows it is a day not for the 'feint-hearted' - I haven't often seen so many runners quoted at 10 or shorter....so no surprise if there is a PS carry-over.

Many races further complicated by runners 'prepping' and coming off lay-offs - the best bet probably comes up on the first with Bold Coast and even that may prefer a bit further, so evens no real value imo

Some longer shots to consider imo include Modjadji ( we certainly need her around Gauteng at the moment) - big swing in the weights could allow her to keep going today; Intandokazi who was apparently all the rage on course last time, but was squeezed at the start so can feature today and the real value on the card today is Silver Scooter in the last - has been disappointing in his last 3, but may have had excuses in all 3 efforts - deadly this trip and not to be ignored

Enjoy B)

Had a close look at race 3... Why Cockade is so short is a mucking fystery to me

There are two that I like to provide better value... Fixed places on Malinga at 28/10 ..and an each way punt on Ryder at 25/1 ...small swingers with those two and Cockade
