Some things are just not right

Naming a horse after a champion in living memory is one of them. What were the owners/breeders thinking when they name their horse Spook Express? Then rub salt into the wounds and send it to MdK. Racing karma is a bitch, its absolutely useless, as are the vast majority of horses named after great horses. Its really not on and should not be allowed.

Just a thought: Are names allowed to be duplicated when naming horses?
I remember that name Spook Express and if my memory serves me right that was named after a South African fast bowler?
We may soon get another Wolf Power/Igugu/Horse Chestnut?????

Was going to post this in the morning as their is a thread called, Replication of Names. This is outrageous as it was a multiple Grade 1 winner and she had ran second in a Breeders Cup Race to Banks Hill who is the dam of the Ideal World who is in turn the stallion of Smart Call. She won at long odds first outing with Karl Neisius aboard I think and according to Mike de Kock at the time was destined for Bloemfontein. Spook Express has also got a race named after her

Apologies Craig. Gordon had a horse just before that my father always should talk about, Brer Rabbit who became a stallion. Where you in that time with the stable ? And if yes, how much better was Scarlet Lady to him or Brer Rabbit was better.

How on earth could the name Spook Express be used again - The horse has a race named after her in SA so in, theory, the new horse could actually run in a race named after her predecessor, except she's way too slow! Absolutely insane and should not ever have been allowed.

Sure there was a Sentinal also and a Glenever named after the real mccoys?
Why not name them Spook Express 11[ 2 ] etc. if they so intent on putting a generic out?
