"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Wednesday 4th June Workings...

Afternoon,

This afternoon's session completed and went as follows...

The 1st runner we wanted 2.7 and with being around 2.92 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won a battling finish, so a good leave....

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.2 and with being around 2.84 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and beyond under good late support, we ad a lay at 2.2 max. The priced then took a turn and went back the other way and out to our own price of 2.5, so a chance of a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade went and won, so the way it goes, but glad of the 'free' lay now.......

The 3rd runner we wanted 1.8 and with drifting to around a big 3.65 on arrival and only getting bigger, it seemed winning wasn't an option according to the market and with not seeing our lay price at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner came in 2nd after looking the winner off the home bend, so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'..........

The 4th runner we wanted 3.2, but a non runner and 7.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.04 (3.05 nearest exchange price). The price was around 3.35 on arrival and then dropped down to us and so we had a lay at 3.05. The price then drifted back out to our own price of 3.35 (was 3.5 before reductions) and so a chance for traders and builders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade fell when leading the field, so hope he's OK, but a good result financially.....

The 5th runner we wanted 1.3 and with being around 1.44 on arrival and only coming down to a rock bottom 1.32, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won well from the front, so a good leave.......

The 6th runner was a non runner, so on to the next runner..

The 7th runner we wanted 2.7 and with being around 3.65 on arrival and only getting bigger, we never see our lay price at any stage at all, so a race to avoid for all. The runner ran a poor race, so the drift more than justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'.......

The 8th runner we wanted 1.6 and with being around 1.89 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner ran a dreadful race and so 'one that got away in hindsight'.........

The 9th and final runner we wanted 3.2, but a non runner and 10.2% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.98. The price was around 3.6 on arrival and only got bigger, so with not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won very easily, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.......

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED...................(2 from the first 2 (100%) went and won - 3 from the first 5 (60%) went and won - and 4 from the 8 (50%) in total (1 Nr) So not easy mixed with those annoying drifters and a satisfying session in the end, considering.)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) Had to concede 0.4 of a target.......They started their 1st strategy/target on the 2nd runner and with only having a couple of lays and the first winning, they had to end up conceding 0.4 of a target after their 2nd and final lay (the 4th runner)........

'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that only bought relief.....Then another 'free' lay (the 4th runner) that bought a tiny profit.........They then found themselves just over levels with only one potential lay left, so always advised to take anything within 10% of the target and run with no room at all for error now. So builders win between 0.08 and 0.10 of a target...

Bank building 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10

Total bank now £410

They then found themselves with just one potential lay left, so always advised to take the tiny profit with now no room at all for error.

Overall result. Win 0.10 of a target.

Bank building 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.

Total bank remains £400

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8

Total bank now £408

They then found themselves with just one potential lay left, so always advised to take the tiny profit with now no room at all for error.

Overall result. Win 0.08 of a target.

Traders either won, or broke level on all their trades, so well played guys..

So a tough session with too many winners, but we all came through it well enough, so we'll take that and go into this evening. Speak soon..

Morning,

The races, runners and prices, to work around for this afternoon as follows..

1.50 Lingfield. ELMALEEHA (2.92 the price on Betfair when 'our' finalised prices were put on this mail)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Please note that a 'little' more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*

3.00 Fontwell. QRACKERS (2.44)

Our price 6/4 (2.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.2 or under we'll go in for a lay.

3.20 Lingfield. CAPTAIN MAINWAIRING (2.08)

Our price 11/10 (2.1) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.8 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he likes to lead or race prominently in his races*

3.30 Fontwell. SOLEIL FIX (3.15)

Our price 5/2 (3.5) and so a LAY is the call at current odds. We'd lay up to 3.2 or under. *Traders be aware that he has a tendency to lead, or race very prominently in his races*

3.50 Lingfield. JUST THE LADY (1.47)

Our price 1/2 (1.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.3 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that although lightly raced, she has shown a tendency to lead, or race very prominently in her races*

4.00 Fontwell. GRASP (1.87)

Our price Evens (2.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.7 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although he's a bit of a thinker and can race several ways, it wouldn't be a shock to see a prominent display this afternoon*

4.20 Lingfield. FLY IN JOHNNY (3.1)

Our price 2/1 (3.0) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 2.7 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware that he has a tendency to lead, or race very prominently in his races*

5.00 Fontwell. APOLCALOZZO (1.72)

Our price 4/5 (1.8) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 1.6 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Traders be aware, that although back over hurdles now, he was showing a tendency to lead over fences and so 'may' bring those tactics back to hurdling this afternoon*

5.30 Fontwell. FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY (3.5)

Our price 5/2 (3.5) and so no bets can be advised at current odds. If we see 3.2 or under we'll go in for a lay. *Please note that more emphasis has had to go on the early markets for clues, concerning this race*

All the races were priced up with non runners taken into account up until 09:50am. Any non runners after this time will have to have their reduction percentage taken away from our prices.

That's our work for this afternoon then. A mixture of races and make ups and although looking a bit tricky, we still have enough within our armoury to go into battle, so with discipline to the maximum and with taking advantage of any prices that come our way, we'll hope that value wins the session as it certainly does over a period of time. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings..
