Really think Crawford will pull off the feature race double with Captain America and Alexis.

Captain America, if he has recovered from the Johannesburg sojourn, he will take some stopping. At the weights, he must be the one they all have to beat, and most of the field are also returning from breaks, his class should pull him through.

Alexis, another that is well treated at the weights. Put Silver Mountain in this race, what price? Alexis beat her over the distance, don't believe there is any Silver Mountains in this field.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race1: Just Sensual is the one to beat- the form of her debut run is very strong. Empire Rising has useful form and should go close. Sylvanite is working well and has drawn well. She will be best over further, but we have brought her back in trip as she over raced last time. Ew chance. Lea's Daughter shows good pace at home, but has a wide draw. If not too green, she could run into the money. The 2 Snaith runners and National Ransom are others to include in quartets.
Race 2: Moonsaballoon has solid form. It looks quite open, with all of 1,3,4,5,12 in with a chance.
Race3: Rubyana has good form, but has a tough draw. Magic Trick and Silver Bouquet are selected to fight it out.
Race 4: Most of the runners would prefer further. Al Wahed and Percival are distance suited and should fight it out. Seven Wood has been off form, but could win off his current rating.

Race5: Open race. Imperial Guard has consistent form and is the one to beat.
Race 6:Another tricky contest. Nel has two well weighted contenders if they stay the trip.
Race7: Captain America and Sail South are best in at the weights, but may not be at their peak. Heartland is useful, but also returns from a break. Blarney Bay is fit and well, and will run a big race. Ernie runs well fresh, and ran a very good race over this distance in KZN when giving Mambo Mine 4kg and finishing just a length behind. Van Niekerk has chosen Rodney in preference, but he will have to show significant improvement to feature here. Selection: 6/1/5/9
Race 8: Alexis is best in at the weights, but she seems best at Greyville and comes off a break. Captain's Flame has top form, but also may need this. Goodtime Gal won well last time, and is a big runner. A Time to Dream should go close despite her wide draw. Moonlight and Roses may be the best of the Bass-Robinson runners, although van Niekerk has taken the ride on Miss Marker. Selection: 5/7/1/6
Race 9: Hernando's Promise has solid form, but a very wide draw. Black Cat Back is the selection after a good debut. Elusive Singer is improving and should earn a cheque.

I have Al Wahed today and hoping he puts his best foot forward to give me my first double on a given race day. Richard up is a big bonus.

Looking at the Matchem now

You would think a horse like SAIL SOUTH who at the weights has a big chance, would be prepaired with a race like this in mind

He likes the track, stable are in form and has the draw

Diana stakes - Captain's Flame 4/1, A time to Dream 6/1

Have always rated Captain's Flame and I was pleased to see how she improved all the time last season, hopefully with more improvement the sky's the limit this season. She won't be at her best I guess but must still have a good chance. At 4/1 I must have a dabble.

Saver on ATTD. Cracking win last time with 61kg on her back. Negative is the draw but classy enough to overcome it.

If this one wins, surely Royal Life has to at Scottsville?
